Young American Award Sponsorship Needed for Connecticut Heroes in Innovation and Science

The Western Connecticut Military Officers Association gives scholarships to graduating HS students of outstanding caliber by way of the Young American Awards. June 2023 will be our 47th year promoting leadership and patriotism in Fairfield County high school graduates.

We are seeking new sponsors for new awards.
We would be honored to give a scholarship in the name of you, your company, or anyone you wish. If you wish to remain anonymous, here are some famous people from CT who have major contributions to our nation that can be used if you so choose.

$500 – $999: Name or business name/logo will appear in the YAA program, one ticket to YAA 2023, group mention to our 30+ media outlets, and a direct call from WCMOA

$1,000 – $1,499: Name or business name/logo will appear in the YAA program, two tickets to YAA 2023, group mention to our 30+ media outlets, and a direct call from WCMOA

$1,500 – $1,999: Name or business name/logo will appear in the YAA program, three tickets to YAA 2023, INDIVIDUAL mention to our 30+ media outlets, and a direct call from WCMOA

Perhaps you know of an organization, individual or company who might want to honor one of our Connecticut well-known or lesser-known Heroes in Innovation and Science

Rear Admiral Grace Hopper – US Navy – Computer science pioneer and mathematician. She earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from Yale University

CPT (Dr.) Doris Troth Lippman – Army Nurse Corps, professor of nursing and the director of the VA Nursing Academy at Fairfield University

Dr Gladys Tantaquidgeon – Mohegan medicine woman, an educator, activist. She worked for the US Bureau of Indian Affairs under FDR.

Igor Sikorsky – Aviation pioneer in both helicopters and fixed-wing aircrapf. He was born in Kyiv, Ukraine and immigrated to the US in 1919. He lived in Easton, CT.
