Ensign Jamie Power (Fairfield Prep ’12) is assigned as Deck Watch Officer aboard the USCGC James, a national Security Defense Cutter.

Timothy Cottell, 2011 St. Joseph High School Young American Awardee,  is graduating in June 2016 from the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY.  Tim will be receiving a BS in Marine Engineering and accepting an active duty commission in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Peter Bonenfant was selected to be the YAA Nominee representing Staples High School in Westport in 2012. He earned this distinction by a combination of community service, academic excellence and leadership. Among his honors was being the team captain of the Westport High football team that competed in the state championship game. Peter spent a year at Catholic University in Washington before being enrolled as a plebe in the US Military Academy at West Point in the class of 2017.In addition to dealing with the challenges of cadet life, Peter is active in the Strings Club (double bass) and an emerging band (guitar). He is now heavily committed to the upcoming Sandhurst Games, a military skills competition between all 36 companies of the USMA Corps of Cadets, plus international service academies.
